Cafe' Atlantico - Washington DC Eats

Of all many wonderful eateries I visited during my spring break trip, I have to say that my most favorite meal was taken place at this foodie destination, Cafe' Atlantico, in Washington, DC. Located in Penn Quarter neighborhood, this top-rated restaurant serves contemporary signature cuisine inspired by the "Nuevo Latino" style. Also known for their molecular gastronomy trend leading.

We started with guacamole to whet our appetite. It was made tableside and served in a molcajete -- very flavorful and delicious!

Signature drink - Caipirinha
and Winter Cictrus Caipirinha with blood oranges and meyer lemons

Roasted Beet Salad
Seasonal organic baby beets, oranges, cotija cheese, with sherry vinaigrette

Carrot Soup
passion fruit, “marshmallows”, fresh herbs
Fun, innovative, and delightful. Definitely not the carrot soup you know.

Café Clam Chowder
bacon, pearl onions, chive oil

Dominican Conch Fritters
Crispy on the outside, and creamy molten lava conch chowder inside, served with jicama-avocado raviolis, and passion fruit oil. Just amazing!

Braised Pork Belly
Nice cut of tender pork belly, with smoked poblano alioli, pickled romaine, tomato hearts, pimenton, chicharrones, bacon

Scallops
Perfectly cooked scallops, with coconut rice, crispy rice, ginger, fresh squid, squid ink oil

Chocolate Cake with Banana
warm chocolate cake with Venezuelan chocolate flan, banana foam and fresh banana-lime salad
Cuatro Leches “Morir Soñando”
Leche merengada ice cream, oranges and almond. Refreshing and lightly fragrant.

Great dining adventure, fantastic food, delightful drinks, and excellent service. Highlight of my trip, and I absolutely enjoyed the experience!
