10th Anniversary Celebration at RMHMM

The Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan celebrated its 10th anniversary by hosting an open house, at 121 S. Holmes St. Lansing, last week on Tuesday, June 22nd. There were cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. There was also an online auction fundraiser with variety of items to bid on. For a decade, the house has provided a place to stay free of charge to thousands of families with sick and injured children receiving treatment at Sparrow Hospital. It was such an honored to be there -- learning more about the house, and volunteer opportunities, as well as being part of the celebration with everyone...

"We are very lucky in this town with the generosity of people."

Spicy Ziti

Another version of my favorite dish, Thai-style drunken noodle.
Today I used ziti pasta, instead of rice noodle.
With ground beef, bamboo shoot strips, tomatoes, and Thai basils.

Absolutely tasty and delicious weekend lunch!

Here is the recipe from the old post.

Lansing Live

I finally made it to Lansing Live this past Thursday. If you haven't heard about it by now (which I doubt it!), it's a FREE concert series of live music by local artists -- on Washington Square, downtown Lansing. The performance is happening on Thursday 4-9 pm, throughout summer. We were rocking out to the dance jams by the Celtic rock band - - The Lash. Lots of fun!

This event is made possible by Traction, a local advertising agency with huge performance, and Tavern on the Square, a neighbourhood eatery serving great food, and fun atmosphere.

Caprese'
Tomato, mozzarella, basil, and polenta

Guacamole
Fresh avocado, cilantro, and lime, with tortilla chips

Hummus
Garlic hummus with charred vegetables and grilled focaccia sticks

See you at Lansing Live!
